How to Deal With a Moody Man on a Chat Line

By Brad Jeffries on July 14th, 2022 in Chat Lines

Moody men are hard enough to deal with in real life, but if you are enjoying the company of a man on a chat line who turns out to be moody, you need to do something about it to keep you both sane! We all have good days and bad days, but there are a few tricks to nipping moodiness in the bud so you can move on to bigger and better things.

Be Supportive

If this is a phone dating relationship you want to keep, then certainly be supportive when your guy is snarking. We all have bad days, and odds are he will get over things faster if he knows that he is supported unconditionally. A listening ear is perfect for being supportive, and will go a long way in making him feel heard.

Dig Deep for the Cause

Sometimes moodiness lasts for a while, and that can definitely be difficult to deal with. If you talk it through with your guy, you could help him find the underlying cause and then it will be more possible to find a solution. Although sometimes guys just want to gripe, if you look to the root of the problem you can often help him get over it faster.

Don’t Make it Worth His While

Another way to deal with a grumpy fellow is to NOT give in to his moodiness. If you are not giving him the sympathy, he is looking for and you just tell him to get back to you when his sour mood lifts, that might be one way to get him out of his funk. He will want to talk to you on the chat line, so he will make himself feel better faster.

Take It With a Grain of Salt

As stated before, we all have bad days. Know that his snarkiness is not directed at you, and that he is just blowing off steam. When he is in a funk, don’t take anything he says too seriously, or too personally. That being said, if his moodiness is habitual and tends toward the abusive, you should not just sit there and take it.

Stay Out of His Way

When all else fails, just stay out of his way. If he knows you will not chat him up when he is moody, this will be a good way to snap him out of it. Odds are he will want to get back to you as soon as possible, so he will tame his mood in order to get back to the chat line with you.

Chat line relationships are supposed to be fun. If your guy is moody, give him some grace, and try one of the tricks above to help him snap out of it. This way, you can get back to flirting and fun sooner rather than later. Remember, that people are complex. A few moody episodes don’t mean that your man is moody all the time. But you should also learn from the behavior. Figure out your own dating boundaries and move on if your partner’s attitude doesn’t align with those.
